SDYC Etchells Fleet 13 Whit Davis Tractor Protocol

In 2010, Etchells Fleet 13 member Geoff Davis made a generous contribution to the SDYC Sailing Foundation for the purpose of procuring a suitable new mule for the fleet’s use, known as the Whit Davis Tractor in memory of Geoff’s father who served as Etchells Measurer and US Sailing Senior Judge for many years.  Fleet 13 and SDYC have now agreed to establish the following Protocol regarding the use of the Whit Davis Tractor:

  1. The Whit Davis Tractor is owned by SDYC and is to be made available to Etchells Fleet 13 members on a priority basis.
  2. The Whit Davis Tractor will be stored in the One Design Lot storage shed (replacing the electric mules).
  3. The keys to run the Whit Davis Tractor may be obtained from the SDYC Front Gate Security upon presentation of ID by an Etchells Fleet 13 member.
  4. The Operating Procedures for proper use of the Whit Davis Tractor will be visibly posted and shall be precisely followed, or use of the Tractor may be denied.
  5. At the conclusion of use of the Tractor, it shall be returned to the storage shed, and the keys returned to the SDYC Front Gate Security booth.
  6. The Whit Davis Tractor will be made solely available for Etchells use on Thursday through Tuesday during scheduled Etchells regatta weekends.
  7. SDYC will professionally maintain the Whit Davis Tractor and may use it for other purposes when it is not engaged in use by an Etchells Fleet 13 member.

Please abide by this Protocol and help us maintain the Whit Davis Tractor for the benefit of Fleet 13.

Thank you,
Bruce Nelson, Fleet Captain
