2026 Fleet Calendar
Thanks to San Diego’s year-round weather, we race every month — one weekend of windward-leeward racing from January through December. Spring brings more breeze and visiting teams; summer highlights our local Corinthian fleet with favorites like South Bay Weekend. We wrap it all up with the Kris Kringle on the City Front.
Bill Bennett Cup (WCSS #1)
The Bill Bennett Cup is the opening event of the West Coast Sprint Series, bringing top-tier Etchells competition to San Diego Bay. This regatta honors the legacy of Bill Bennett, a beloved SDYC member and exceptional sailor.
Pacific Coast Championship (WCSS #2)
The Pacific Coast Championship returns to San Diego as Event #2 in the West Coast Sprint Series (WCSS) — and the first regatta of the season held under full class rules. That means weigh-ins, sail declarations, and all the formality of championship-level racing.
Etchells Midwinters West (WCSS #3)
The Etchells Midwinters West is the only three-day regatta in the West Coast Sprint Series, and one of the most important events of the season. It’s run under full class rules — with weigh-ins, sail declarations, and measurement compliance required — and features competitive racing and great socials each evening.
Orca Bowl/PreWorlds (WCSS #4)
The Orca Bowl is the final stop on the West Coast Sprint Series — and the most relaxed, fun-focused event of the season. While the racing is still competitive, the real highlight is the Saturday night BBQ, a long-standing tradition known for great food, cold drinks, and plenty of laughs.
September ODW
The September ODW takes us to the open waters off Coronado, in the Coronado Roads. This event is part of the Fleet 13 Fall Series and counts toward both the Falconer Trophy and the Fleet Championship standings. Expect competitive racing, open water conditions, and great fleet participation as teams sharpen up for 2026 Worlds.
October ODW
The September ODW takes us to the open waters off Coronado, in the Coronado Roads. This event is part of the Fleet 13 Fall Series and counts toward both the Falconer Trophy and the Fleet Championship standings. Expect competitive racing, open water conditions, and great fleet participation as teams sharpen up for 2026 Worlds.
November ODW
The final ODW of the season brings us back to the Coronado Roads for one last shot at Fall Series points. This regatta will help determine the outcomes of the Falconer Trophy and Fleet Championship — so stakes are high, but the racing remains friendly and fun.
